Drainage Cleaning Robot

Baliyo Ventures Pvt. Ltd., with full support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), has developed the Drainage Bot—a smart, safe, and innovative solution to help sanitation workers clean drainage systems without entering manholes. In Nepal, many workers still face dangerous and unhygienic conditions while cleaning drains. The Drainage Bot changes this by using a robotic arm to lift waste, keeping workers safe and out of harm’s way.

The machine is compact, easy to move, and can be operated using a control panel with a live camera feed. It also includes a smaller inspection bot for narrow spaces. Tested in Kathmandu, Bharatpur, and Nepalgunj, the Drainage Bot received positive feedback for its safety, user-friendliness, and smart design.

With plans to add more features like suction, jet spray, and solar power, Baliyo Ventures is working to bring this technology to more cities in Nepal. The Drainage Bot is proudly made in Nepal and aims to protect the health and dignity of sanitation workers across the country.
